richba5tard
After long consideration, I'm going to order this car next weekend: Made up my mind, my new car is going to be a Skoda Octavia Combi, 1.9TDi (105pk), metallic black, 17" rimms. Same color and tyres as in the picture, but 'combi' (break) version. At less than 20k euro's (including airco, leather interiour, parking help, 17" 225/45 R17 tyres, metallic color, and lots more) its a steal. And this is my current (company) car: Audi A3 3 doors, 1.9TDi, 2005
TASOS
Very good choice the Octavia...and nice colour pick. I own a 06 GTI ... with a bit more than 300PS :woot:
richba5tard
Those rimms are a bit too "bling bling" for me, but otherwhise your Golf GTI is a kickass car. Did you chiptune it? I thought a Golf GTI 2.0 FSI had 200HP.
TASOS
That's 19" BBS CH .... i love them It has a lot more than just chip tuning. If chip tuning equals a good air-cooling for pc's Then my car is definetely on a single stage phase
aspstein
Nice cars guys! I own a BMW 325TDS 99 modell, will take som photos soon. And richba5tard, get a chip in that Skoda.... 150Bhp, 365NM What did you pays for your cars? Here in Norway the prices are sky high... A new Golf GTI cost about 60000 euros here.... richba5tard
60.000 euros? That's nuts, a VW Golf GTI starts at 26.500 here. The Skoda Octavia Combi 1.9TDi with all the options is about 23.000, 19.500 after discounts. Very nice price. I might chiptune it, but only to 125 - 130hp max, I don't want to break the engine. richba5tard
If (if!) I chiptune it, I'm going to declare it to the insurance company. Insurance isn't much more expensive when it's 105 or 125hp.
richba5tard
No way that I'm going to tune it > 130HP. It will decrease the life expectancy for sure. I'm not really sure about 105 to 125HP... do you think it would hurt the motor in the long run? The Audi A4 has exactly the same engine but 115HP, I wonder what the maximal power would be without hurting the engine in the long run. richba5tard
I tend to agree, but 25% more HP should be noticeable.
TASOS
No problems at all for the motor ... just by chip-tuning it. Just pick a well known product with full warranty. http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.php?nav=3&FZID=OCTAVIA2TDI77F

I dont think ot will decrease the life expectancy much, at the end of the day it is the way you use the engine that counts. I think it will manage 150HP easy, look at the Seat Leon 150HP 1,9tdi or the golf 150HP 1,9 tdi. Isnt theese almost the same engines? 130-140HP i reacon is safe. But then again I usually overclock all my Hw to be running on the edge...
