Taipei, Taiwan – February 1, 2011 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards and other computing hardware solutions, today announced that GIGABYTE has been alerted by Intel about a 6 series chipset design error. GIGABYTE is working closely with Intel® to minimize the inconvenience to customers and retail stores with regard to related issues.

A recent statement from Intel indicates that they expect full 6 series chipset volume recovery in April, 2011. GIGABYTE will produce and deliver new motherboards with the updated Intel 6 series chipset when the new chipsets become available. GIGABYTE prides itself in having the highest service quality in the industry, and as such we will resolve this issue with minimal impact on our customers.

Yay, My gigabyte mobo will be replace by new chipset when they comes (maybe in may?) with no service charge. :D

At what vcore should we start being afraid that it would just kill the CPU?

tested on my C43 and confirmed by a friend on C45 - latest bios somehow has problems with 2133 on teh RAM. 185 could boot 2133 but not stable, 187 will hang up during boot with "45".
Only improvement I could remark: 1.5 Vcore instead of 1.35

I have 2133 problems with 1.8B11 on gd55. 2133 is not possible any more, event with cl10 it wont boot and cl8 2133 was no problem with older bios.

It kinda stopped untill Intel said they were starting to ship faulty chips again. I guess the support would've stopped if Intel would not have agreed upon that.

We have new official UEFI releases for the P8P67 Standard/Pro/EVO/Deluxe/Sabertooth boards today. You will not be able to roll back to an older UEFI after this update as it contains new firmware and B3 stepping compatibility. Additional UEFI releases for the balance of our P67/H67 product lineup will be released in the near future after qualification testing is complete (H67/P67M/WS). The next official UEFI update (13xx series) in the near future will feature additional user enhancements, USB drift fix and updated Marvell/Intel MEI controller firmware. I highly suggest a Clear CMOS event after loading the updated UEFI and then entering UEFI to reset your custom settings. JJ and I will have updated information on memory setups and SSD testing over the course of the next week.

1. Reset your UEFI to Optimized Defaults, reboot, enter UEFI and then flash to the new UEFI build.
2. After flash and restart, shutdown the system before you enter Windows/Linux.
3. Remover the power cord from the power supply, wait thirty seconds, press Power On button to clear any remaining charge, clear CMOS for five seconds, reattach the power cord, power on the system, enter UEFI, set to Optimized Defaults, save and exit.
4. Enter UEFI, set your system to customized settings based on your system configuration (RAID, OC, etc), save and exit.
Note - These UEFI releases will be on our FTP and Support Sites shortly.

Plz make sure you follow the correct flash procedure ( as Stasio already mentioned) or get stuck with my the double post bug again

Especially the cmos reset is important, as my sabretooth was not posting ( again), after the cmos reset it finally works as it should...

You must flash this UEFI: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=Fatal1ty%20P67%20Professional&o=Beta
I changed from my Fatal1ty to an Asus P8P67 Evo, the Fatal1ty has many non-reproduceable
bluescreens.

any change-log?

Maximus IV Extreme - 1101 Change Log -
- Improved OC performance using Multipliers or Auto Overclocking
- Improved BCLK and DRAM OC capabilities when enabling the “Internal PLL Overvoltage” option in BIOS. Note - Sleep/Hibernate will not operate properly due to Intel Specs.
- Improved Memory Profiles and Performance (Elpida Hyper owners, please use Red Slots for best performance, CFG Lock to Disable should improve SuperPI times)
- Per Core Save Fixed
- Minor Bug Fixes
- Auto Voltage Resume Fix

Please note - Enabling Memory Bandwidth Boost will tighten memory subtimings and can cause non-post conditions with certain memory kits. It is currently optimized for Elpida Hyper and High Speed PSC ICs. This setting will be optimized with additional memory profiles over time and we are working on "best" settings for mainstream kits now. I recommend unless you are trying to set SuperPI records with the above kits that most users leave this option disabled. It is meant for "on the edge" overclocking.

thanks massman!

damn msi fooled me another time ^^ "Adjust CPU voltage" is not what I hoped - new bios still 1.35V max (even the tooltip says "we do not recommend to set voltage past 1.4" lol ) ... vmod anyone? -.-

€: but actually they seem to finally have got the trick with RAM - can run my ST kit 1088 8-10-8 finally...I would love to continue testing for the msi challenge but I sold the only CPU doing 5 GHZ at 1.35V to neoforce :p the chips I have here that run 5.5+ can't handle low voltz ^^

€˛: somebody just told me C45 can give up to 1.52V...sounds strange to me as it is the same bios basically ^^

Hey, I'd like to warn you about this version. It seems to have a bug. My keyboard with 2 USB cables (for on-keyboard USB connections) no longer works in the UEFI. I tried a standard Compaq keyboards with just 1 cable and it worked perfectly. I believe someone messed up while trying to fix USB support.

Also, another OCN member borked his board with it and is now unable to even reach the UEFI to reflash.

Sorry, here is A0Q. http://www.mediafire.com/?i6n6mi208c5wa79

Version E7672IMS.A0E = v10.0b14 (pre-release/BETA)
Version E7672IMS.A0M = v10.0b22 (did not find it uploaded)
Version E7672IMS.A0O = v10.0b24
Version E7672IMS.A0Q should be v10.0b26 I guess.

A0E seems to be a good one. One user on the msi forum was reporting that he had problems with a B2 board.
.AOQ

instant lock on disable spread spectrum with 2600k and mushkin 1600mhz 6-8-6-24 @1.65v

also not overclockable in the os via control center 2 keeps saying reboot to change multy

so as it stands the .AOE bios was best but now i cant use it lol

would also like to see and option in the securty bios tab to copy bios 1 to bios 2

both bios gone no post just power cycle on/off
the ME update gave an error

If you got a similar bios chip replace it with the corrupted one but don't push it all the way in. should be loose enough when you boot and the code loads you can swop it with the corrupted bios. It will fix your corrupted bios

b3 bioses will work with b2 I beleave

I flashed my B2 Asus P8P67-M Pro with the B3 bios before I sent it back. It caused the EFI bios to basically stop working. It would not save most manual settings. They would all revert back to auto after reboot. The multiplier would not go past 43. One bonus it that it would boot and run @ 105.5 BCLK when 104 was the limit before flashing. YMMV

Yes, must be caused by BIOS mod then I think. I use B3 BIOS on B2 and can change Bclk with ET no problem, only tested UD7 though.

Thanks for helping out Stasio guys! I am unable to help from my end or I would get in big trouble, so I was hoping one of you guys could help him or I've been trying to find a method from someone so I could mod BIOS ID for him.

SO when using this BIOS mod auto recovery doesn't kick in due to mis-matched BIOS ID's, or are you quickly flashing the backup BIOS to B3 as well?

Falkentyne
04-05-2011, 07:34
Big question is
Does that mod for B2->B3 fix LLC1 on UD5?
Wonder why no B2 version fix ever came out...when F1 version of B3 was dated OLDER than the latest B2 beta?

Was LLC1 overshooting on B2 a BIOS problem or was it hardware?

Lsdmeasap
04-05-2011, 07:50
Hahaha, why everyone so mad about LLC1, is it really that bad on UD5?

I see same complaints on UD4/UD7 too, but all seems fine to me?

Diabolo 80

I dont have problems LLC1 on my UD5 whith different ver. BIOSses B2 or B3

Falkentyne
04-05-2011, 08:17
Wait, are you sure?

LLC1 on the B2 bios would overvolt by 0.05V+ over 1.4v, and LLC2 would overvolt by 0.15v and crash the system.

This was fixed on F1 BIOS on the B3 board...so the B2 board crossflashed with F3g doesn't overvolt with LLC1 anymore?

Yes,I agree with you.
BIOS is different, but NOT defective and garbage
,as they attack me on "hardwareluxx.de" (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f219/gigabyte-ga-p67a-ud3p-b3-p67a-ud4-b3-p67a-ud5-b3-intel-p67-3-a-791516-49.html&rurl=translate.google.com) forum.
They in Germany had his own "Guru" and they beleive only to him.
They had been surprise and sceptic, how I post BIOS before GB server and act like half closed eyes horses, waiting always for "Jockey" command.

Checked on ASUS' site last night and there is a new BIOS 1202 for the P8P67 WS Revolution. It seems to be a tad more stable for multi-threaded benches at higher clocks. They also dumbed down the power section of the UEFI by an option or so. Unfortunately they don't give you a way to link directly, but here's the product page (http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=dzgoion0wgHoT7tp&templete=2).

Alright, time for a small update on this front as well:

The E7681IMS.1A0-Final-Release is out. *As it is not available on the product pages for the mainboards we are concerned with in here, I will upload it. *For those of you, that are already using the E7681IMS.1A6-BETA-Release, don't bother to flash E7681IMS.1A0, because E7681IMS.1A6 and E7681IMS.1A0 are identical [.1A0 is .1A6 re-released with "final" status].

And now let me move on to the changelogs. *Changelogs for E7681IMS.1A5 (v1.10b5) and E7681IMS.1A6 (v1.10b6) are still missing. *Those will appear in blue letters in the following E7681IMS.190 -> E7681IMS.1A0 overview:

A question comes in mind though , there are couple of roms here that I cannot see in the official manuf. ftp , like- asus p8p67 dlx 1505 ,
are those official and stable , or some kind of beta / 3rd party roms ?

Thanks ,

90% of the BIOSes in this thread are BETA. That means unofficial and no guaranteed stability. Overclockers just don't care about what the manufacturer warrants and prefer to test beta bioses on their own :D

Just a warning for those using Gigabyte's B3 bios on B2 boards:
I successfully updated mine to F3. Every thing was fine until I had the great idea of trying to update the backup bios (expecting that if something went wrong it come back to a B3 bios instead of an B2). After the bios swaping process MY BOARD "DIED" :( It doesn't post, doesn't make any beep, with or without CPU it doesn't start anymore...

I bought some dice for trying good scores for initial K contest and I stopped before using any of it just because of this great idea of messing up the backup bios before benching...

I'm just sad now.... I'm really dumb :( for realz :(
