I sincerely expect no poo. No hardware sharing, no borrowing of a nice SB setup to make things easier. Each and every GPU was bought, voltmodded, benched and where it happened... killed, by me. I chose to not use X48 for a few cards because GPU-Z ID was messed up and would create verification headaches for me and the mods. It hurt a few scores, but for transparency and easy-to-understand submissions, I was happy it was the right thing to do.
With the possible exception of 2-3 results, every 3DMark score has an associated .3dr file
No mip, no Post-Processing disabled. Just a clean OS (T-XP R9 and T-7 32-bit) with the best driver and the best LOD I found for each bench during testing.
The only gray area thing I did was a driver mask to use 169.21 with the 9800 series. I (publicly) asked permission before I did it :)
While it's unfortunate that you/we need to go to such lengths, it's also really refreshing to see someone bending over backwards to make sure everybody can tell everything is legit. So, thanks! The extra effort is appreciated, if everybody did what you did HWBot would be a simpler place with less poo :D
I feel sort of silly saying so, but I'd love to see pictures of the cards just from a curiosity standpoint, I'm still working on my voltmod methods and I like seeing what other people do.

If mods are just for me, I dont make them neat, I just get it done. If they're fragile, it forces me to treat them carefully :)

Nice pics. You should get some 1.2k ohms SMD resistors for the G80/G92 OCP mods to save some VRs and handle the cards easier :)

Hey Scunny :) 9600GT vGDDR mod.... it needs 200K trimmer. I used two 100K trimmers in series. Gray wire is going from far leg of the trimmer to the FB point. The wire is sitting well above the capacitor on the left, its just the angle it was taken at :)
White wires to jumper strip is VID selection. OVP is very tight on these cards... its VID + 0.05v or something, vCore has to be done through VID :) I worked up to 1.45v on water then left it for LN2 (-40 to -45 pot base)

where I can learn all of that and what I need (I mean tools, I am sure you will reply I need to be you :p) ?
I need to do something with my 4CoreDual SATA R2 for exemple and a 7800 GTX... and why not all other cards I have :D
EDIT: Now I just remembered I tried to randomly mod my GF 440 MX... the card was funny looking but worked only 10mins :(

Soldering itself only comes with practice.... find some dead hardware or buy one of those electronic "toy" kits to get a feel for how solder works, if its new to you.

Will buy a solder kit and start to randomly mod a P4P800s/P4C800 to see how it looks :D. Gigabyte for Sam, Asus P4 series for me
Where did you find these mods, I want to mod my 8800GTSG80 and 8800GTSG92.. I found a few pencil mods but nothing like what your doing.
I also have an AIW9800, and a few old Rage cards.. but I can't find anything on these either.

But to see if it works ( if it is connected with the card's circuit ) you need to set your DMM ( Digital MultiMeter ) to "Continuity check" and see if the grounds are connected to the ground plane ( one probe on the ground on the PCIe connector and the other on a ground, like where the screws are placed or the metallic frame of the DVI output connector and see if it "beeps" ( is connected ).
You also need to check if the 12V pins ( the rightmost ) ( the three points under the arrow ) are connected to the circuit, check for continuity with the nearby capacitors and the choke ( 1R0 ).
If they are connected, then it is worth it to solder a PCI-Express connector there ( as long as you're going to sub-zero cool it )
To be very clinical and goal-orientated, the answer to your question is in the GDDR :p
It's an ECO card, so if they used a cheaper RAM bin, the card in unlikely to really go anywhere, so the work would be, in some ways, a waste of time

Yes, 12v is connected with the nearby capacitors and choke.
And 12v is also connected to the ground (metallic frame of the DVI).

Set your DMM to "Continuity test" ( the sound signal, which beeps when the probes touch eachother ), and place one probe on a ground pin of the missing PCI-Express power connector, and the other DMM probe on a ground on the card ( e.g. where the screws head touches the card, the metal frame around the DVI connector, etc ).
If it beeps, then go ahead and solder a pci-express power connector there.

With the DMM, i touched both pins on the GeForce2 MX 200, had a nice flame and 4CoreDualSATA2 shut down.... :D
Two card on a row, the other one is the GeForce 3 which I randomly modded it and according to my calculations I modded the 3.3v circuit a bit too high... something between 3.87v and 4v :p
That sucks :( Well.... i've lost a few bits n pieces over the years to shorting, but thankfully not for a while

Anyway this card wasn't worth subzero, with 7ns chips and a cheap PCB
Any computer builder of any kind who tells you they've never shorted anything is probably lying :p
I killed 3 in a row. 9600gt 8600gt and 9800gx2. I think I learned my lesson :)
