The long awaited X58A-OC motherboard today finally makes its way to computer markets around the world. The final product looks much like the early samples that we’ve seen on various forums, except that the North Bridge heatsink is a little lower on account of some of the larger aftermarket CPU cooler sizes.

Availability will vary according to shipping times from Taiwan, however, I reckon it’s safe to say that it should be available in Taipei’s Kuang Hua computer market this evening, and in the rest of the world over the next 2-3 weeks.

Just think.... it's possible that the guys in Kuang Hua could buy this board and it could still be a little bit warm from the production line! :p

Hm. Interesting.

I wonder why they'd specifically mention lowering the NB heatsink just by a bit. It's not something I care/think about when announcing shipment/release of a certain product.

I'm not entirely certain gigabyte marketing really knows what it's doing.

I hope they replaced the push-pins on the top heatsink in order to use screws ;)

Were there a few reviews mentioning that certain heatsinks wouldn't fit? This is the only thing I can think of.

And this as well lol

I happen to work for Gigabyte marketing myself and all I'll say is there is more than meets the eye ;)

Then why let all the rumors about price and lack of a release date on the OC go rampant? Doesn't sound like the best marketing (or lack thereof) to me!

In fact, I gave up waiting and purchased another RIIIE because of the price rumors and the inability of anyone to give a release date.

What is the difference between normal Vers. and Limited Edition?

One's a lie.

Well, let's just say that everyone who enters the GIGABYTE Australia office is extremely pleased about the reception!

Dino knows what hes doing man, anyways they changed the heatsink just for that, i personally had no trouble. Also i like the pushpins and screws to be honest, as its much easier to keep track of them than it is to keep track of those screws. I already lost two.

Yeah, I wish my TT Frio just used push pins... Then I'd never lose the screws!

Screws, springs and nuts assure a far more solid mount then pushpins... loosing parts is end user related :p...

But wouldn't it be awesome if Vince started including giant pushpins with his pots? Forget getting a good mount, you wouldn't need to worry about losing those bothersome screws!

Screws + no pressure is worse than pushpins + pressure :)
