four intel sockets and just one amd socket? :(
whats about 754, am2 or am3?

Massman
08-02-2011, 12:54
Sometimes it's a challenge for AMD fans, sometimes for Intel fans, sometimes for both fans ... every month a little bit different !

1156 would be much more fun than the limited sandy socket. :(

in the main area is written 1155 but in the stage5 description 1156?!

@Massman: i guess especialy the bclk-challange would be optimal for a challange for both "fans" ;)

nice :-) Geoffrey has my S462 mobo, and i have something in stock looking like a S478 mobo and a S775 mobo.

Luebke

my s462 mobo doesn´t work .___.
i gues a 133mhz (my second s462) result is useless to submit, hm?^^

I love 1156 :)

then do it, I take care of s423, s462 and s478. If you can do LGA775 too would be nice, my rampage formula did only 660 mHz fsb last time

I know the rules don't state as much but do these need to be new benches/submissions or can we drag old CPUZ dumps out?

Christian Ney
08-05-2011, 11:26
New bench usually for HOC

Rasparthe
08-05-2011, 11:29
Was under that impression as well but they are popping up in the HOC. Fine if they are allowed I have a few I could use. Any thought to wallpaper for each challenge?

Christian Ney
08-05-2011, 11:33
well, it's massman who has to decide, he will be back august 8th. wallpaper does nothing here as it's only cpuz link validation used, but there is the date of the validation in the cpuz validation link, so if new bench are mandatory, then we can easily moderate the old ones submited for HOC

The monthly challanges have always required fresh runs. I see no point in changing that now. If you have the hardware, run it. If you don't, bummer.

Christian Ney
08-05-2011, 13:59
I checked older HOC and yes seems fresh/new runs are required
New runs please :)
, will ask massman to write it as mandatory in the rules.

Correcto.

New runs, fresh scores.

Will the old scores be removed from the competition or staying considering they were submitted before ruling was confirmed or posted on the rules?

Massman
08-09-2011, 11:20
They will be removed from the competition. Now.

Jerre

damn, otherwise i'd have for now 1st place with S478 ;)

gonna oc that old S478, and then some :)

Are 1700+ Thoroughbreds not usable in this challenge? I keep getting an error telling me my entry is incorrect. CPUZ for what I'm submitting: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1947343

Massman

cpu-z is having those problems with showing the double fsb (only in the verfication of course) since v.1.56.
i hope frank from cpu-z fixes that asap.

* ONLY USE PROCESSORS USING SOCKET SOCKET 462. - YOUR SUBMISSION DOES NOT COMPLY TO THIS RULE

It then spits out a list of 462 procs, and the 1700+ Thoroughbred is not listed. Palomino is, but not Thoroughbred.

You need to run 1:1
Not really sure what you mean. Do you mean for ram?

I.nfraR.ed
08-12-2011, 02:05
Yes, you're right. It finds it in the database and suggests the right model, but when you try to submit, the lowest Thoroughbred is 1800+. I guess Massman should add it to the competition, right? Probably it's done manually for the competitions and he needs to select all allowed processors with a bunch of checkboxes?

If that's the case...Massman failed :P Spank him in the @ss, lol :D

Turrican

it's there

just type "1700+" and it shows up

It's in the database, that's not the issue. It doesn't appear in this list: http://i891.photobucket.com/albums/ac115/justnukeem/1700TB.png
and therefore won't be accepted. I duno how much of an issue it is, I called it a Palomino instead of a T-bred. The database doesn't have a couple of my motherboards in it either, but that's a different story.

Sounds like this is the problem. Actually, the 1600+ T-bred is there, so there just isn't any love for my 1700+ T-bred :(

No checkboxes, dude. Our system is far more complex than that :D.

Okay, problem is fixed. For some reason, the 1700+ tbred did not have the right socket in the database. I changed it now :)

Ahhh, I bought a i5 760 to have some bclk fun with p55-gd80... just to be welcomed by a 222Mhz-wall :( Anyone have any ideas?

just_nuke_em

Having more submitting problems. Why are some 462 mobos accepted and other not? Having problems with it accepting a Shuttle AN35, Asus A7N8X and A7N8X-E (only will take A7N8X-X).

Massman
08-28-2011, 10:21
What is the error? There should be no problem at all since the stage limitations are based on the socket linked to the CPU model and not the mainboard model.

just_nuke_em
08-28-2011, 11:21
The error is shown here http://i891.photobucket.com/albums/ac115/justnukeem/Untitled-3.png. This is shown after trying to submit this cpu-z http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1948825

As of a couple of hours ago, the Shuttle board works now, aka the model# pops up in the field when I start to fill it in. The only reason I can see is that it works now is that I was doing some other submissions today that seem to be the first use of that board model (this one for example (http://www.hwbot.org/submission/2202402_just_nuke_em_cpu_z_athlon_xp_3200_2723.34_ mhz). infact, the only 2 submissions for this board are mine that I made today). Coincidentally enough, some of the board that won't get accepted don't have sumissions in the reference clock categories, which makes me think there is a connection to it not accepting boards that have not been previously used. Or maybe the site is just mad at me?

Massman
08-28-2011, 11:36
Okay!

The problem is that the boards were not in the database yet. I have added them after your first post and that's why the AN35 board is working now. The A7N8X-E should be working as well.

even tried as different mbo still getting error "Motherboard is required for motherboard benchmarks!"

OK it worked somehow but now I wont have time to properly bench my p4c800

Really nice for the epox

Too bad for the P4C800 though :(

Really strong FSB from the Epox board. I should have tried harder. Congrats for winning this stage.

Any way to recalculate the points for highest submissions? It seems it works only if you submit another one in the competition. Then the previous one gets the points.

hope next competition will be about old hardware again :O

It's CPU-dependent as well. I wanted to try dry ice on the NB, prepared the board, but had no time to go and buy dry ice.
