Tweak or Exploit?

im afraid to submit it. its definitely tweaked, and appears to be a valid run.

i am not a cheater and thus is why I have not submitted this score... because its most certainly out of the ordinary and looks 100% suspect.

the question is am i allowed to tweak the benchmark so long as i don't inject files, alter files, etc?

im not running wireframe. im not altering the benchmark files in any way. im not adding any dditional unknown tweaking software. im not manipulating MipMap or the textures in any way.

can I get some clarified rules please?

im not a coder, and haven't written some voodoo magic program that makes heaven run like a beast, nor do i know of any. as you can see the score is really really big for a 580 (and not the highest i have either) and clocks are low so any advantage i would have now would be temporary until others find the tweaks.

I don't want this to become an issue, so if its disallowed I can make a recommendation to stop these kind of tweaks from being used.

can I submit the run w/o points to see if validation works? I'd like to be as transparent here as I possibly can.

You should submit it and see if the validation file is accepted, this can't be any worse than what's available in the ATI driver controls.

You could also submit without points as an option.

yea but i don't want to be called a cheat or anything. i don't see why validation file wouldnt... i didn't do anything to anything that would affect it.

plus... its nice seeing ati in the top spot for once in something that matters.

if you dig deep enough, you'd be surprised how far down this rabbit hole goes.

You made an inquiring post to the matter, I don't think anyone will accuse you of anything other than looking for tweaks to improve your score. :celebration:

I've had legitimite 580 runs get rejected because of the validation file, so I'm curious as to what your tweak will do to it.

It's a little hard to say or talk about something that at first seems illegal, but may not be, the truth is I do not know what is being done to get this score.

I transfer this to discuss with the staff, but do not think they know what is being done in heaven

Pulling up the command line and disabling tesselation during the run is altering the benchmark. Unless you can disable tesselation on the driver side (like ATi) it must be done in the command line of the bench... which makes this score invalid. The Heaven Command line is entirely too easy to access and alter during the run.

All user interaction will be locked (no mouse, no keyboard). However, CTRL+ALT+DEL always works :).

same tessellation tweak, different method. i want to send it for future bug fixes as you guys had said... its not a valid run.

but the score represents what a 580 could do at given clocks with just tessellation shut off but still in dx11 mode. so, its fun to post a screen shot and have a nice debate into what if's.

I haven't written a program in 12 years lol! watching the behavior though.... its entirely possible to write an app that mimics the behavior of ati drivers.
