richba5tard
Is that a clamp holding the tube down? No mounting holes?
Massman
Correct.
Massman
Actually, it's how most new bench tables work. It's much easier than using 4 mounting holes
Hyperhorn
I think it`s just about the main purpose of the benchtable (air/water vs. Dice/LN2/LHe) and not about the age itself (e.g. established Team Japan style). Maybe it`s just more popular, because the CPUs had often no heatspreader back then and I guess you can break the die with a clamp very quick.
