FM leaves something to be desired when it comes to consistency in what is/is not allowed to be published. HWBot policy is and will continue to be, i-Ram is allowed for all PCMark results - it is a hardware storage solution. With the forthcoming SSD's, FM's decision may get a little more complicated.

HWBot is taking a slightly different approach to verification of PCMark results run with i-Ram. From here on out all PCMark scores using i-Ram (or the forthcoming SSD disks), need to provide verification in the form of a screen capture. The screen capture must include the individual test details windows as well as CPU-Z open in the capture, OR a screen capture of the score details from your project manager. Of these two choices a desktop screen shot is preferred, don't worry about the partial details window - thats is an FM programming limitation. For non-pro users obviously a screen capture is not an option so you will need to upload the project and take the capture from your project manager.

As a reminder, we Do not allow software Ramdisk results.

I don't see why FM wants to remove the results with i-Ram or SSD equvalient disks, seeing as there is a couple of people that really have moved away from harddrives.

I understand fully that software ramdisks are faster then hardware versions. How is there proof the user is using I-ram over a software ramdisk? If the XP startup is 220 mb/s which would it be? Sorry for the questions but I am not familiar with the speeds the software ramdisk would see.

i-Ram in Raid configurations can peak over 200 in HDD startup, software ram disks can reach over 1500 easily.

Yes I know, but do you know what our policy is and has been? I honestly don't know why we're talking about this here.

As far as I can tell there is NO official word on the subject from FM. They are however removing results created using software volumes. According to the latest word on their forums i-ram (ie: Gigabyte i-Ram) has not specifically been addressed.

Your right, there was no official word from them. However if you check the PCMark05 HOF here you will see they removed all i-Ram scores recently.

OK guys FM has re-allowed i-Ram. Please re-publish your projects so we have current verification for your scores. In two weeks will will begin blocking i-Ram scores that do not have current verification and a message will be sent to those users.
