Not to sure what i'm doing wrong here,
The benchmark runs fine (both DX9 & 10) from the hwbot App.......it finishes and i get a score ....... but I,m unable to save it .... what am i missing ??........ I'm also getting a ...runtime Error 380 ...when i push screen shot.

Hi guys,
i have istalled unigine heaven, does several runs, and want to benchmark another graphics card with another driver, to comme closer - i can't install any driver (either XP, Vista or W7). My system is blocked in all OS. Did somebody have same experience?

Can you save and submit later? I can't seem to figure how to do that. Wasn't hooked up to the internet when I ran it. Also, where do you go to see the scores?

You can save your score as a hwbot file by clicking "Save result".
Then you go to http://hwbot.org/init.results.submit.do?applicationId=0 where you select the preset you ran.
You will then arrive at the page where you would go to if you click on "Submit online".

I,m havimg a problem with this benchmark recognising my HD4890. It recognises it, but when I try to submit it says it's a Radeon X1600 and even if I change the card on the submission page it still submits it as an X1600.

If you have the full setup (http://91.121.148.119/downloads/hwbot_unigine_heaven_v102/HWBOT-Unigine-Heaven-Benchmark-Application-1.0.2-Setup-full.exe) (~331 Mb) it should work properly at least running the bench, for submission I don’t put my hand on fire :D. Try uninstalling everything related to this bench and reinstall the application. May be in rush you have jump over a step. I don’t have any other explanation for this… God look

I ran the full install. Using the old 197 drivers. The bench ran fine.

Installed 257.15 drivers and now I get a dx11 error after the bench runs 100%. I reinstalled heaven and dx11, no change.

I re-ran it last night w/ June 2010 dx11 redist and got the same DX11 error. Tried the new 260 drivers (phsyx off), same error. Ran 197's again and it worked.

Hey Massman,

Any reason our Heaven submissions keep disappearing. I don't have any personal notifications that there are problems with the scores...they just disappear. Evga Enthusiast team mates SniperOZ and Johnksss have the same problem. The current submissions are old, our newest ones in the past week are gone.

I’ve just gone through my notifications and found that SF3D has deleted almost 20 of my 480 submissions could I have some clarification please!!!!!!!........I’ve put a lot of time in to this benchmark and to delete them without a better explanation is a bit unfair

mmmm I see down clocking not allowed.......that’s strange..Why??? ..
Isn’t it about getting the most out of the bench mark..... Consistent Frame rates....or is it a new rule just now implemented????.....or is it just as the above reads, only for this benchmark.....
I don’t see anything in the rules about this .......it would off been nice to have been told at the beginning............, or at least discussed, maybe even to be notified directly (as it affected only a few of us) or a thread started here to give people a heads up and a chance to understand why!!!!

Although what is considered down clocking low MEM ratio, low MULTI, low BCLK,
And why if it helps performance and doesn’t alter the benchmark it’s not ok.....
At what point do you consider a CPU down clocked, all my runs were at 4 to 4.8 GHz.......if I have 2200mhz ram is that what I have to run it at I think not......
Isn't the reason we spend over a thousand dollars on an unlocked CPU so we can have these options available .......should you now specify the lowest BCLK allowed...!!!!

I’ve had all the submissions checked since the benchmark came on line by a moderator and they were fine why now all of a sudden it’s not?

I’ve been enjoying this benchmark and now feel very disheartened could someone please explain?

yes. that makes two of us! we did not alter the benchmark in any way shape or form, just spent many hours trying to get higher. now we are penalized for it?? how is that? or why is that? i have yet to see any whereon these forums as to you can down clock. so this needs to be address and now. with a valid answer other that.."you can't down clock" and it needs to be explained in detail as to why.

That make three of us...This is just unacceptable. Funny SF3D deletes the scores, yet he is #2 in Heaven DX11 world record listing...Unbelievable! Sniper said it all already, but we overclocked our CPU's at 4Ghz +.....who cares what bclk & multi are used to get there.

Oh wait a minute, I see....HWbot just realized, by looking at our scores, that they put a lot of time and money into launching an HWbot "branded" benchmark that has a critical flaw....that flaw being you can get a good score by tweaking you HW, versus just plowing through with LN2!

Maybe that's why Rev 4 will have an xtreme and enthusiast levels, as no self-respecting "xtreme" overclocker would be caught dead benching Heaven.

I applaud RB & Massman for running this operation, but you need to understand that we get very upset when countless hours of work go down the tubes. We sacrifice a lot to contribute to this community, most of the time at the expense of our families and friends, so when arbitrary decisions like this are made, we just want to throw in the towel!

Boys, HWbot crew made critical mistakes on this decision.

You submitted them in to HWbot and it is not allowed with unigine engine based benchmarks. It is very simple and you already got the explanation in the blocking message. yet there is nowhere in all the threads about heaven benchmark about some nonsense about down clocking.

Hi guys!

Sorry that we need to take all those scores out of database. I sent all of you the text sniperOCZ posted above.

Downclocking is not a tweak with this benchmark. It is a major flaw, which may lead to totally dropping it from HWbot.
When you downclock after boot, this benchmark calculate the frames per second incorrectly. This benchmark was not designed to be used in competitive platform, so unigne did not disable this feature from it. So, it is the same as using timer cheat with some other benchmarks. You will get a lot better scores than you should with applied clocks. If this would be some other benchmark all of you would be banned for a short time (1year). Now it is not an issue, cause it is still test period, so no worries.

So, to sum this up. It is not allowed to downclock your machine under 133BCLK when using benchmarks, which are based on Unigine engine, cause it will lead to uncomparable results. All scores done with this method will be removed from the database.

You guys got nice clockspeeds, so just run these tests again and use normal system power. That way you will be in the lead at this point anyway.

So the epiphany I had in my earlier post WAS right...major flaw in benchmark. However, when we submitted these scores, we knew nothing of such a flaw. I can't find anywhere where is says no clocking below 133.

Well, now we do know, and we certainly won't clock below 133. In fact we will clock right AT 133...stupid bechmark, IMHO. Although I do like the eye candy!

We at Evga Enthusiasts don't even know what "cheats" are...we haven't been around that long to be that devious, and to throw a remark out there that we would have been banned for a year in some other benchmark, gains you nothing in our eyes, SF3D!

BTW, I don't know where I received such a message from you SF3D..Maybe you can show me where to look. My personal page has no notifications.

Like I said, there is nothing to worry at the moment. The scores need to be removed, so they will not mess up the charts. No one accused about cheating either, cause it is the benchmark itself.

Hm, I can't run Hwbot Unigine bench properly... Hwbot shortcut -> DX9 or DX11 preset -> Unigine starts, but I see only black screen with Unigine logo at the left side and FPS >5000 at the right. Seems like Unigine doesn't start, what's up, how I can run it?
P.S: I've tried Full and Light package, nothing works. But official Unigine bench is running perfectly...

Today I managed to make my first submission (http://ro.hwbot.org/community/submission/1057538_danutzuac_unigine_heaven___basic_preset_dx 9_geforce_8800_gt_512_mb_955.29_dx9_marks) on DX9 with an 8800 gt 512 mb. Prior to that I reinstall all the software related to this bench, including DX9. When I saw the result posted I tried with some substantial OC but the thing gone wrong. Again same error I told you about. Have you discovered why it is happening like this? It is getting frustrating. Thanks

mcq8, Legal Windows 7 Professional x64.
Official Unigine Heaven benchmark works fine. Also, when I start bench from Unigine.exe it works too.
When I run your tool and start any preset, GUI of the Unigine bench works, I can press ESC and there is working menu. But no picture on the screen, just logo, fps and nothing more. Action doesn't start.
Any ideas?
P.S: DX is up to date, tried to reinstall many times, .exe starts with administrator rights and so on...

Hay mate I had this problem uninstall Heaven and make sure that you also....uninstall OpenAL (under unistall programs) ........then reinstall ....it should all work.

I think some time's OpenAL might get corrupted on some installs but you need to manualy uninstall it....

I have an issue everytime I use the automated upload function.The browser opens and insert some entrys appears. But I can't submit it, everytime (no matter which card or if I do several entrys) it say I should enter the score.
Would be nice to make this function working ;)

I have 3 x GPU 5850 and Unigine Heaven at run don't start 3º GPU , only works well 2 x GPU , I run other 3D Marks and works well with 3 x GPU.

3º GPU is detected but dont run at program.

GPU-Z Say 3 x GPU Enabled.

Any idea ?

just my two cents worth,

i think downclocking brings something extra to the heaven benchmark, because then it is who can downclock the most..

the asus 1156 comp has shown underclocking is very difficult and it takes alot of time to underclock properly.

same with downclocking, it seems that different boards and cpus downclock better and different settings mean you can downclock more... while the bench wasn't designed for this, i think it brings a new skill to the benchmark and thats what we want right? more benchmarks that take different system components, different tweaks and different ways to get the top score... or why dont we just bench 3dmark vantage and superpi only? :)

Yes, I agree. I'm sure SniperOZ will agree too. Snipe & I spent a lot (and I mean A LOT) of time trying to figure out how to "get lower". Memory considerations, uncore, etc. have an effect. When we last left off, Snipe's Giga UD9 was able to pull off a lower bclk than my 759 classy.....but that's where we left off......before our scores were blocked, lol!

Since Unigine isn't working that fast, we're now looking into the matter ourselves. We could use some help debugging!

If you want to help out, please test the downclocking theory(*) in the following OSes:

- XP 32-bit
- XP 64-bit
- Vista 32-bit
- Vista 64-bit
- 7 32-bit
- 7 64-bit

Preferably in both Vista and 7 both DX9 or DX11. No need for screenshots, raw numbers suffice :).

(*): downclock through software in OS and re-run the benchmark.

Xtreme is With DX11 , and only can run with Windows 7.

With DX9 at Windows XP , Basic Mode , can be run at 1440x900 , but DX11 don't run at that resolution, at least with last Version of HWBOT Unigine.

When can be that HWBOT Unigine have hwboints ?

it's can be motivation sure for more users , and could be participate more users that now is little participation.

DX11 and XP doesn't work because XP only supports upto DX9.

For those who are wondering about the downclocking issue, here's more details on it:

The problem with Unigine is that the downclocking is not really speeding up the benchmark, it's just making it run for a longer period (so effectively changing the benchmark). We figured this out just a few days ago.

- Unigine score is derivative of the FPS
- The FPS in unigine are equal to "num_frames_calculated" divided by 260, as 260 is the predefined length of the benchmark.
- Adjusting the BCLK in OS makes the benchmark run longer or shorter (depending on downclock and upclock). In normal circumstances, the benchmark runs 260s. Adjusting the BCLK downwards by 10% means that the benchmark will take 260x1.1=286s.

The problem is that Unigine didn't take into account that the benchmark length can vary. So, regardless of how long the benchmark took, the total amount of rendered frames will always be divided by 260. The more time a benchmark takes, the more frames you can render ... so downclocking increases the score.

We've already given the feedback to Unigine, but they've not been very responsive so far. I'm actually thinking about disabling the benchmark from HWBOT as long as this bug is present .

Should we pull the benchmark untill we've got a fix (or disable overclocking in OS)? Or just leave it like this and all people to get used to the benchmark and then remove the scores once the 1.0.3 is here?

Good news!

In our test labs, we have found a way to eliminate the downclock loophole. We're currently running an internal beta to verify functionality in all OS and it all looks to be working. We've now begun making the application compatible with the HWBOT engine and will be launching a beta version for you to test soon :).

No. Desktop 1600x1200.
Several earlier i run hwbot unigine with 8800gt and dont have any problems...

The app keeps locking up for me in stage 7 (3D goes black, interface in unresponsive), I have to end the "Heaven" process to close it out.....even while not OC'ed

This only occurs with the DX9 preset....not the DX11 preset :shrug:

edit - I'm testing with ATI now, and it fails to even start....just hangs on the heaven splash screen.

Apparently you missed my ALL CAPS :p

I just tested again on a gaming rig running Win7 HP x64 with a 5870 and CAT 10.8 and after the splash screen, the logo shows up at the bottom and the FPS counter shows up in the top right and rapidly fluctuates around 6500.....but scene never shows up.....it just stays black.

I have had two others from TRP who have run it without issue.
Maybe my download was corrupt (twice) ???

I'm getting some weird results with new 1.0.3 dx11.

I get 19,570 rendered frames with this score (x1780.013). I get 18,860 rendered frames and x1873 score...more rendered frames = less score?? Bug?? The score with more rendered frames was @ 4.9ghz, the one with less frames was 5.7Ghz. Both completed the tests in 259.2s. I ran three times both ways with similar results. 265.90 driver

Both results are posted, so if you can take a look at them and me know.

Actually, that's the downclock fix kicking into action :-).

The score differs between the screenshot and the hwbot file. I don't think it's caused by data corruption, because all clock frequencies can be described as "harmless" for sure. ;)

Moderators can't update the score but I'm sure massman will figure out how to correct this score.
This bug will occour with any score that has no decimals and will be fixed as soon as possible.

Installed and ran on my daily rig (don't have time to setup my benching rig ATM)....and it crashed on the splash screen after selecting the DX9 preset. The DX11 preset worked fine.

This rig has a GTX 480 with 260.99 drivers....Windows x64 full install. Sorry to say, but this is the 4th OS I've tried now, and I'm starting to think the bug is not OS related :p

It's not driver related. Tried Radeon 6850 with Catalyst 10.12 - same "error 13" in both DX9 and DX11 modes.
Tried two Win7 bulds (one for benchmarks and another for daily usage) - same error in both.
Tried full version from here (http://91.121.148.119/downloads/beta%20-only%20for%20testing%20purposes-/) - same error.
The quick'n'dirty workaround:
- go to control panel
- go to region and language
- change 'format' to 'english (uk)'
- change location to 'united kingom'

That is why I reported it. It is a cheat and IMO should be prevented.

Don't get offended, but it looks like it can't be detect so easily. If it could, results couldn't be posted.

I was making an example and over-tweaked to get 750 points, but I could set it easily to get around 200 and blend in with many others. Also I could run at default, or slightly OC'ed to get around 2000 points, then raise GPU/VRAM to appropriate clocks. If it can't be detected trough validation file, then the bug/cheat can be exploited.

BTW, why was my post removed? Not to spread the bug until fixed?

Yes, it is capable of running 1280x1024!! Even set the resolution to 1280x1024 having the same error on 2 seperate monitors.

Try both window 7 64bit and xp 32 bit still no go..

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in this thread, but both the CPUz and the GPUz links on the benchmark window open GPUz. This is with a full install.

That's the only bug I've run across, other then that it's been great, I really like it.

Well, i didn't thought an update would become necessary as long as i was using h67 new platform....but you were right, i removed 8.15.10.2219 Intel drivers and intalled 8.15.1.2246. no error message anymore.
but here comes a new issue : i'm stuck with the loading screen of heaven....

I just finish my 3rd installtion of Windows 7 (Ultimate 64b, Ultimate 32b and now, the most common one, Premium 32b). With the latest drivers for H67, i still cannot run the DX9 Basic preset, i cannot go further than the loading screen. Unigine Heaven works fine so far, same goes for DX11 Extreme preset.

Here comes my question : how am i supposed to join a contest if one of the benchmark cannot be ran on my rig ?

The problem is that we still haven't reproduced the bug. If we can't reproduce it, we can't find the source and we can't fix it. It doesn't mean the bug isn't there ... we just don't know how to solve it.

Have you tried XP?

I'm still wondering why this bench is kept as a stage of the contest. Almost nobody can run it. Using something safer like 3Dmarks would be better for such a contest, else that's not fair for the 90% of competitors who cannot achieve that benchmark.

Fixed by changing Format and Place to United Kingdom instead of France ;) !

Oh I've tried... Like seven times. I used the full install, I used the typical install. Hell, I even installed on different partitions, and on different drives completely to no avail.

The problem i see on latest versions ex. 1.0.3 is that CPU not scaling well with up Mhz.

For score is the same run bench at 4.5 Ghz that run at 4.9 Ghz.

For that bench is more important VGA's clocks.

It's only 1 opinion ! ;)

Anyone able to complete the benchmark on a G210 card? I'm using an ASUS G210 and the benchmark always hangs at 98,5 sec mark. Regular Unigine 2.1 benchmark runs fine...

I live in France like w00t w00t, is the problem can come from the french version of windows (i have windows 7 64bits) or something like that ?

I tried to install hwbot in several directories but it changes nothing. Someone have an idea where the problem may come ?

I installed Heaven 2.5 and this is what started happening to me. 2.1 gives a runtime error and 2.5 gives this bug.

Every time I try to run Basic DX9 or Xtreme DX11 from the HWBOT Unigine Heaven Benchmark starting screen it gives me:

I have the same problem! This is my configuration:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
2500k
MSI P67A GD65
Sapphire HD 6850 with 11.4 driver
4gb ram GSkill Ripjaws-X Drr3 1600mhz 7-8-7-24

I tried to install and reinstall it a lot of time, but it has the same problem, both as DX 9 and 11. I also tried to use the 1.04b version, but it has got the same probleme. :(

Cause I still cannot have a score under windows XP SP2, I stuck at the really beggining when there is the launchpaper, the bench doesn't start.

Unigine heaven run fine, but not your benchmark tool. And afaik 1.0.4b was working too.

Do I need some VisualC++, or runtime or frameworks ?

Same under Windows 7 last time I tried

seems I have problems with dual GPU cards or SLI/Crossfire, single cards run Unigine Heaven HWBot Benchmark DX9 and Unigine Benchmark DX9, but dual GPU Cards or SLI/Crossfire won't run Unigine Heaven HWBot benchmak DX9, but run fine Unigine Heaven Benchmark DX9. Even with latest Drivers.

Maybe it helps to solve the ''stuck launch wrapper'' problem

I'm still using 1.0.3 and can't submit scores to hwbot.
Submit button works, it goes to 100% upload, but nothing happens after that.
Allso I can't detour the problem by manually submitting the score, since the submit form doesn't have input for the score.
Any ideas?

Problem exists on XP pro x86 & Win 7 Ultimate x64.
Other specs: i5-2500k, p8p67-m, 4GB DDR3 etc.

A manual Heaven submission should work again. I was not able to test the online submission with the wrapper though. If someone could verify/show the error it would be useful for me.

OK.
Now it asks for the datafile and submission form shows the score.
Unfortunately it takes ages to submit the score (I'd guess the servers are heavily loaded), but it works.

Hmm yes, I know about the long submit wait time. It's because in rev4 we update all the rankings immediately during submission, instead of having them scheduled every half hour of so.

I can change this but then we get complaints people don't immediately get their score/rank after submission. Maybe a poll is in order.
