Default processor power

hello!

I have a technical quastion regarding cpu's. I thought about cpu power, voltage and current and on some point i asked myself a quastion wich maybe someone could answer...

Why contemporary processors have for example 60 watts with 1v and 60a current why not 12v and 5a current wuldn't it be better for thermal purposes to keep current low and voltage higher?

the smaller is lithography process the smaller are barriers in transistors - this leads to requirement of less voltages. If we use higher voltages this will lead to higher leakage and higher possibility of damage to transistor.

oh i see
so the benefit from prosess shrink is not as big as we would get with keeping voltage from higher litographyprocess...
