Overclocking World Championship Poitiers 2017 Qualifier: Rules and Restrictions Detailed

The next Overclocking World Championship Qualifier contest gets underway in just a few days time with the HWBOT World rolling into town at Poitiers, France in time for Gamers Assembly. The news today is that the rules, hardware restrictions and prizes have not been confirm in full. As a news post on the HWBOT World Tour site goes on to explain :

Overclocking World Championship Poitiers 2017 Qualifier: April 14 ? 15

The Overclocking World Championship Poitiers 2017 Qualifier contest will take place at Gamers Assembly on April the 14th and 15th. The contest invites the region?s top Extreme Overclockers to compete for a place in the World Championship Final at the end the year and the chance to be crowned World Overclocking Champion of 2017. Note: Tickets for the OCWC contest are still available.

Key Nomenclature

Segments / Competition segment: The ?OCWC qualifiers competition ? OCWC Poitiers 2017? is broken down in two competition segments. The qualifiers and the finals. The qualifiers are All vs. All with score submissions via OC-ESPORTS. The finals are 1v1 matches. These are direct elimination versus matches between competing overclockers.

Rounds / Competition round: A round is a subdivision of a competition segment. In present OCWC settings, the ?qualifier segment? has one single round, and there are multiple rounds (each round being a single 1v1 match) in the finals segment.

Stage / Competition stage: Inherited from the functioning of the OC-ESPORTS website, a stage represent a specific benchmarking task within a round. In present OCWC settings, the ?qualifiers segment? holds three mandatory stages (three different benchmarks).
