Default GIGABYTE prepping GA-Z68-Gaming, OC board next?

Just found this picture over at Facebook. Neat looking board, although I'm hoping an OC version will come too!

before you think GBT cares about the OC community, no.. there's no OC 1155 board on their roadmap

There's absolutely no need for an OC 1155 board, since you can take a very low-end model ( GA-P67A-UD3-B3 ) and overclock the sh1t out of your 2600K and hit the same clocks that you hit with a Maximus IV, a UD7 and the Z68-OC ( just speaking ).

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if GBT don't have 1155 OC-only board. Unlike the X58 platform, The 1155 platform is too heavily dependent on CPU Quality, increasing the component / VRM Quality on the board doesn't seem to help much in overclocking. (Well, the X58 platform also dependent on CPU too, but at least a board with better VRM shows better overclockability)

Take a look at ASUS M4E, GBT P67A-UD7, and MSI Big Bang Marshal which has clearly better components/circuitry compared to their inferior counterparts, and yet the overclockability of my CPU remain the same.(i.e my CPU has the same OCability on the MSI BB Marshal and P67A-GD65).

A Z68-OC board wouldn't necesserily need to be better then anyting else. It could go the other way around: Be cheaper.

Just a plain board, with good VRM and layout, but without all the other sh*t overclockers don't need.

in Tim handly's interview he said something about only making OC boards in their high end products. and 1155 is not considered high end. Im sure there will be x79 - oc
