Stage 7 hang (again)

I still had hit n miss problems with Unigine crashing at the start of stage 7. Massman suggested a fix involving sound options between BOS and the Heaven settings screen. The HEAVEN screen, not the HWB wrapper.... but I was getting a hang at the start of stage 8 instead.

Anyway.... between my belief my problem had always been windows related... and PJs sound suggestion... I installed proper sound drivers off the mobo CD (instead of the generic ones in Windows) and.... everything is working.... for now anyway

PJ said the sound options fix was "reproduceable" so I figure a bunch of people had worked towards the idea so... thanks to them all

Seems like all Nvidia 7*** series don't work eighter with Heaven DX9.

No fix it seems

FPS would be so terrible that even if you miss out on the points and silverware, your eyes are MUCH happier

I have sound card disabled via BIOS and it still hangs in Stage 7. Does it need to have sound card enabled and driver installed?

yeah, you need to enable it and install the drivers. it worked for me than.

That topic was really helpfull and I discovered another issue today. While "tweaking" my windows xp (I wouldn't call it tweaking) I usually disable the windows audio service.

While I had all drivers installed the benchmark still stopped at stage 7 to 8. I re-enabled the windows audio service and finally had the DX9 uh running under XP
